Landscape Photograph

A quiet winter scenery with snow-covered trees, from Lappeenranta, Finland. When I saw this photo I was speechless. I've always loved landscape in pictures, especially black and white or snow. The photographer took this one so that the trees and the bank reflected in the water to make it look bigger than it is. The sky seems to blend in with the snow, being a pale ice blue. It's innovative to me because usually when I see a snow landscape in a photo, it usually has a bridge or is just full of trees. Nothing special, but this photo brings both land and water in a cold part of the world, and it flows naturally. Everything in this photo just seems to work together which is something every good photograph has to have.

  1. I like this image very much! The vantage point seems to be an opposite bank from the forest, perhaps near the edge of the water. The way the snow hangs on the trees give the image a soft look. The dark water stands in contrast to the whiteness of the trees and the light blue sky, which balances the composition.

  2. I love this photograph, it reminds me so much of back home. It looks so cold and so peaceful. I like how the trees are so detailed and then the sky and the water are so calm and soft looking, it really makes it a well balanced image.

  3. It really needs to be enlarged to be appreciated. When I clicked on it I could see how very delicate and subtle the description is.
